Dr Romayne Gad el Rab

Consultant Psychiatrist, at The Maudsley Hospital and

Clinical Research Fellow to Professor Allan Young at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) researching digital interventions to support mental health and new treatments for depression including ketamine.


Romayne is interested in the effects of technology on our mental health working at the National Centre for Internet Gaming Disorder and Co-chairs the Royal College of Psychiatrists Digital Special Interest Group.

Trained in both Medicine and Design, Romayne is a collaborator at Hyphen-Labs, an international team of artists, engineers, scientists and architects, creating at the intersection of art and emerging technology. Romayne has curated and contributed to public programmes at Somerset House and the Tate Modern.
